Service of the Lord’s Day with Rev. Ed Soto Sermon Title: “Speaking with God: Prayers of Intercession” Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:35-41; Psalm 17:1-9 Duet: “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” Words by Ray Palmer, Music by Lowell Mason; Sung by Kelly and Keegan deBernard 1 My faith looks up to Thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine; Now hear me while I pray, Take all my guilt away, O let me from this day Be wholly Thine. 2 May Thy rich grace impart Strength to my fainting heart, My zeal inspire; As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee. Pure, warm, and changeless be, A living fire. 3 While life’s dark maze I tread, And griefs around my spread, Be Thou my guide; Bid darkness turn to day, Wipe sorrow’s tears away, nor let me ever stray from Thee aside. 4 When ends life’s transient dream, When death’s cold, sullen stream shall o’ver me roll, Blest Savior, then, in love, Fear and distrust remove, O bear me safe above, A ransomed soul.

Service of the Lord’s Day with Rev. Ed Soto Sermon Title: “Speaking with God: Prayers of Thanksgiving” Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:12-19, Psalm 138:1-8 Choral Anthem: “O How He Loves You and Me” and “Blessed Quietness” Kurt Kaiser and Words: Manie P. Ferguson, Music: W. S. Marshall, Arranged by Cleveland and Nix. O how he loves you and me!... He gave his life. What more could he give? O how he loves you…O how he loves you and me. Jesus to Calv’ry did go; his love for sinners to show. What he did there brought hope from despair. O how he loves you. O how he loves you and me. Joys are flowing like a river, since the Comforter has come; Christ abides with us forever, makes the trusting heart a home. Blessed quietness, holy quietness, what assurance in my soul. On the stormy sea, Jesus speaks to me, and the billows cease to roll. Like the rain that falls from heaven, like the sunlight from the sky, so the Spirit, too, is given, coming on us from on high. What a wonderful salvation, when we always see Christ’s face, what a perfect habitation, what a quiet resting place.
Service of the Lord’s Day with Rev. Ed Soto Sermon Title: “Speaking with God: Prayers of Confession” Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:1-11; Psalm 6:1-10 Choral Anthem: “Hope of the World” Words and Arrangement by Lloyd Larson Hope of the world, help to the helpless; a humble Servant, Savior, Friend; God’s only Son, sent to redeem us; hosannas ring praise without end. Amazing love! How great a Savior! Christ comes to set the captive free. A love beyond all comprehension, the grace of God for all to see. Amazing love for you and me! Jesus walked this lonesome valley, He had to walk it by Himself; O, nobody else could walk it for Him; He had to walk it by Himself. Jesus walked this lonesome valley, despised, rejected and a lone. And alone, He carried our sorrows, griefs and burdens. He had to bear them all alone. Jesus bore them all alone. Amazing love! How great a Savior! Christ comes to set the captive free. A love beyond all comprehension, the grace of God for all to see. Amazing love for you and me!
