DAWNDonation-A-Week-Neighbors is a volunteer emergency service agency that provides emergency services to needy persons within the Altavista/Hurt area. It is sponsored by the Altavista Area Ministerial Association. DAWN can be reached at (434) 363-7969 or Facebook.
Wednesdays at 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM during pandemic. Franny’s HouseFranny’s House is a shelter for women victims of domestic violence. If you are a woman currently in a domestic violence situation, we encourage you to contact us at the church and we’ll put you in contact with a representative of Franny's House.
Lynchburg Daily BreadLynchburg Daily Bread is a food pantry that serves a free, nutritious lunch 365 days a year where everyone is welcome. Guests may have as many servings as they wish. More than 98% of the food is donated from local colleges, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Check out their website for more information! APC sends volunteers every third Wednesday.
Every Monday and Thursday at 11:15 AM, Daily Bread serves meals in Altavista at English Park. This is a drive through service and patrons are invited to line up at the boat launch. Altavista Backpack ProgramThe Backpack program is an ecumenical mission in partnership with Lynch Station Baptist Church, which provides food for needy families by providing a weekend meal to elementary school children who qualify for free lunch. This program is funded annually by the Abbott Laboratories.
Operation Christmas ChildOCC is a ministry project of the Samaritan's Purse. Every year APC donates items and packs shoe boxes for this wonderful mission. We’ve even sent folks to Charlotte to help organize and pack the boxes for shipping! To learn more about OCC, click here.

Claire Parker FoundationThe Claire Parker Foundation focuses on quality of life support for kids and their families fighting cancer by offering comprehensive programs. Two Cents-a-MealTwo Cents-a-Meal is organized by the Presbyterian Church (USA) and distributed by individuals Presbyteries. The first Sunday of every month, APC collects a special offering to support Two Cents-a-Meal. Recipients of grant money include Kairos, Franny's House, Lynchburg Daily Bread, and many others.
