Choral Anthem: A Sovereign Promise. Words by J. Wilbur Chapman, Tom Fettke & Fanny
J. Crosby. Music by Traditional Welsh hymn. Arranged by Tom Fettke.
One day when the angels proclaimed Jesus’ birth; the Savior, Redeemer came down to the earth. He left heaven’s glory to set our hearts free; Among us He lived our example is He. One day they led Jesus up Calvary’s hill. One day He was wounded and life blood was spilt. He suffered in anguish, alone in our place; But love held Him there—O what mercy, what grace. O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood to every believer, the promise of God. The vilest offender who truly believes. That moment from Jesus a pardon receives. To God be the glory gereat things He hath done. So loved He the world that He gave us His Son. Who yielded His life an atonement for sin. And opened the life gate that all may go in. O come to the Father through Jesus the Son. And give Him the glory, great things He hath done. Praise the Lord…
