Directions to Altavista Presbyterian Church |
- From the North (Lynchburg area) Follow U.S. 29 southbound from Lynchburg. Take the fourth Altavista exit, marked “Route 43 – Altavista – Leesville.” At the top of the ramp, turn left onto Bedford Avenue. Go 1.5 miles to the first traffic light at 7th street. Turn left. Go one block to the traffic light at Broad Street. Turn left. Altavista Presbyterian is on the right at 707 Broad Street, next to the public library.
- From the South (Danville area) Follow U.S. 29 northbound from Danville, Chatham, and Gretna. After the two Hurt exits and after crossing the Staunton River, take the first Altavista exit, marked “Route 43 – Altavista – Leesville.” At the top of the ramp, turn right onto Bedford Avenue. Go 1.5 miles to the first traffic light at 7th street. Turn left. Go one block to the traffic light at Broad Street. Turn left. Altavista Presbyterian is on the right at 707 Broad Street, next to the public library.
- From the East (Appomattox area) Traveling westbound on U.S. 460 at Concord, Virginia, turn left onto Virginia Route 24. Go 8 miles to Rustburg. Stay on Route 24 through downtown Rustburg. Just past downtown, U.S. 501 continues straight and Route 24 turns right. Turn right here and follow Route 24 across the railroad tracks. Go 4 miles, through the traffic light at 685, to the intersection with U.S. 29. Turn left onto U.S. 29 south. From U.S. 29 south, take the fourth Altavista exit, marked “Route 43 – Altavista – Leesville.” At the top of the ramp, turn left onto Bedford Avenue. Go 1.5 miles to the first traffic light at 7th street. Turn left. Go one block to the traffic light at Broad Street. Turn left. Altavista Presbyterian is on the right at 707 Broad Street, next to the public library.
- From the West (Roanoke area) Follow Virginia Route 24 (Elm Avenue) eastbound away from Roanoke and Vinton. After passing the Blue Ridge Parkway exits, go 18 miles to the traffic light at Route 122. Continue straight 5 more miles until the road dead-ends at Route 43. Turn right and follow Routes 24/43 for 3 miles. When 43 turns right, follow it toward Altavista and leave Route 24. In about a mile, turn left onto Route 628, Mentow Road. (Look for Mentow Baptist church on the left at this turn). Follow 628 through intersections with Routes 626 and 682, respectively, continuing all the way until 628 dead-ends. Turn left onto Route 43, Bedford Highway. Follow it all the way into Altavista, crossing U.S. 29 along the way. At the first traffic light, at 7th street, turn left. Go one block to the traffic light at Broad Street. Turn left. Altavista Presbyterian is on the right at 707 Broad Street, next to the public library.
